Philosophy & Mission

"Working toward world peace...
                                 one person at a time."

The "working toward world peace" part may sound a bit grandiose... but it is the"one person at a time" clause that makes it an everyday possibility.

It is my repeated experience in both giving and receiving massage, that massage, the power of human touch (and graced with Divine compassion, I believe), does something that I can only explain like this: Somehow it puts you back in touch with yourself, with a part that is deep inside. Maybe life is so "noisy" that you have temporarily lost contact with it. Maybe it is the balance that is necessary for the body to function fully in restoring health. Maybe it is the calm that is needed for the nurturing of your soul. Maybe it is the stillness that draws you to tap in to the Spirit that is already within.

It is not me, so much. In a way, it is not in the massage so much as it is already in you... But it is massage, and I, as the massage therapist, that "escort" you to that state of being where you find refreshment, wellness, renewed strength, self-worth, grace, and peace.

Your setting aside a time and space for rejuvenation and renewal, combined with the sensory-soothing experience of touch, the sound of tranquil music and flowing fountains, aromatherapy, and visually calming surroundings, all contribute to a sense of profound inner calm. It is in this inner quiet that not only healing can occur, but that you may perhaps be reawakened to some deeper aspects of who you really are, and who you have the potential to become.

As one client so aptly described it: "When I leave here, I feel as though my body, mind and spirit are all in sync."

If by my work I can be a part of that transformation in the lives of several people each day, and those people in turn go back into their daily lives and operate out of that place of peace, they will affect those around them, and, like a pebble dropped into still waters creates ripples that travel outward to the furthest reaches of the pond, the peace can grow and spread and multiply, and it will affect the world.

About Me
I graduated from Self-Health Integrative Medical Massage School in Lebanon, Ohio in 1997. I am licensed to practice massage therapy in Ohio and Kentucky, and have my National Certification as well.

I love this work, and I love learning more about it, so I have taken continuing education in the areas of Lymph Drainage Therapy, Deep Tissue, Bowen Therapy, Muscle Release Technique, European Hot Stone, Hawaiian Temple Lomi Lomi, Massage For People With Special Needs, and more. I have been blessed with excellent teachers.

I learn much from the hands-on experience of giving massage, as well as from receiving it. I make it my own wellness practice to receive massage on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, and I go to a number of different therapists to experience different styles. Aside from my profession, I enjoy being with my family, gardening, music, reading, hiking, cooking, and beekeeping.
